Some George Strait Biography Info.

George Strait now holds the most #1's at 57 as of this date May 09. He broke the old record which was held by Conway Twitty. Only The Beatles and Elvis have more hit records than King George as he is known in country music.

George's parents divorced when he was in the 3rd grade and he and his older brother Buddy chose to live with their father. Buddy just recently passed away in Apr 09.

George Strait graduated from Texas State Univ in San Marcos Texas with a degree in agriculture. He and his older brother often competed in roping competitions ... yes folks, George Strait is as real a cowboy as you can get.



George and his wife Norma live in the wealthy gated area known as The Dominion, which is in the NW part of San Antonio and also own a ranch in Cotulla TX which is 50 miles SW of San Antonio. Their son Bubba (age 28 in 2009) is also active in Rodeo. George and Norma lost their 13 yr old daughter Jennifer in a car accident when she was only 13.

George Strait music is still very much tied to the traditional country music sound. But King George rarely picks up the guitar at home, just when he is in the studio or at a George Strait concert.
